The City of NSB contracts with Waste Pro for collection of all trash.  Garbage days are Tuesdays and Fridays; recycle day is Friday; yard waste is collected on Thursday.  Residents will need to supply their own trash bins (no larger than 32 gallons); however, Waste Pro will supply the recycle bin.  Contact Waste Pro at 386-424-1850 or 386-788-8890 to request a bin.

Following is information provided by Stephanie Doster, Planner I, with the City of New Smyrna Beach:  "Each lot within the Coastal Woods community (and every other property within the city limits of New Smyrna Beach) is subject to the requirements of the City’s Land Development Regulations (LDR).  The trees that are on the properties within Coastal Woods were a requirement and meet the MINIMUM standards of the LDR.  That being said, any tree removed would require a replacement.

Below is a link to an attachment to find the City’s approved tree list.  Replacement trees are required to be a minimum of 9 feet tall and 2.5 inches in diameter when measured 6 inches above ground level. Replacement is required within 60 days of the tree removal permit being issued by the city.  The replacement trees must also be approved and inspected prior to the permit being finalized.  You will also find below a link to the Florida Exotic Pest Plant Council List of Invasive Plant Species.  Any plant present on that list is prohibited from being planted.  There are some fruit trees on that list, so please be aware when making your choices."

If you have any questions regarding tree removal and replacement, please contact Stephanie directly at sdoster@cityofnsb.com.

The Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program (SNAP) is administered by the FWC's Division of Hunting and Game Management. SNAP is one of five components of Florida’s comprehensive Alligator Management Program. Its mission is to address complaints concerning alligators.

Persons with concerns about an alligator should call the toll-free Nuisance Alligator Hotline at 866-FWC-GATOR (866-392-4286). When someone concerned about an alligator calls the Nuisance Alligator Hotline, they will dispatch a contracted nuisance alligator trapper to resolve the situation. Generally, an alligator may be deemed a nuisance if it is at least four feet in length and the caller believes it poses a threat to people, pets or property.

SNAP uses contracted nuisance alligator trappers throughout the state to remove alligators from locations where they are unwanted or unwelcome. If a complaint meets the qualifying criteria, SNAP will issue a permit to a contracted nuisance alligator trapper authorizing the removal of the animal.
